The New Jersey Professional Process Servers Association (NJPPSA) has submitted a request that the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) consider approving and publishing an alternative language rider, written in Spanish, to the form of Summons currently promulgated on the New Jersey Judiciary website. The request would in line with what the Court has already approved and published for other types of Summons utilized in the Special Civil Part.
This request is in recognition of the experiences of private process servers while serving legal process upon persons of limited English proficiency (LEP). Its purpose is to make critical alternative language provisions available and utilized in all civil divisions of the Superior Court, thereby advancing the concept of Equal Access to Justice that the Court so stridently supports.
